The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Course prepares students to provide life-saving prehospital care in both urban and austere environments. This comprehensive program follows the National EMS Education Standards and equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, stabilize, and transport patients experiencing medical emergencies, trauma, and environmental hazards.
Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on skills labs, scenario-based simulations, and clinical/field internships, students will develop proficiency in airway management, CPR and defibrillation, bleeding control, patient assessment, splinting, spinal motion restriction, and more. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, scene safety, and teamwork under pressure.
Upon successful completion, graduates will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) cognitive and psychomotor examinations and pursue state EMT certification. This course is ideal for individuals seeking a career in emergency services, fire rescue, law enforcement, wilderness response, or disaster medicine.
