An EMT is a health care professional trained in the basic skills needed for rendering care to patients in need of emergency care and transport due to illness or injury. This course equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, stabilize, and transport patients experiencing medical emergencies, trauma, and environmental hazards.
This course is ideal for individuals seeking a career in emergency services, fire rescue, law enforcement, wilderness response, or disaster medicine.
Upon successful completion of the EMT course, the candidate is eligible to take the National Registry Written exam to obtain National Certification as an EMT and then may apply for Colorado State certification/licensure as an EMT.
Length of Course: 172 total hours - 156 classroom hours and 16 clinical hours
Minimum Required GPA to pass: 80%

As part of the EMT Course, students are required to participate in (& complete) clinical rotations. Once class starts, students will be provided with detailed information regarding the clinical rotations. Additionally, each student will be provided with a web-based account for submission of the required documentation.
Students are responsible for all costs associated with the immunization & background check requirements.
The following is a list of documentation/items will be required:
● Completed COVID vaccination series OR approved exemption.
● Measles, Mumps, and Rubella Vaccination/Illness Immunity Record/titer.
● Tdap
● Hepatitis B Vaccination Series (started)/titer.
● Seasonal Flu Vaccination (REQUIRED November – March)
● Tuberculosis Testing (PPD or QuantiFERON TB) within the last year.
● Complete criminal background check (PreCheck)
Criminal background checks are required.
A clinical affiliate may deny a student access to participate in clinical rotations at their facility based on the results of a student’s background check
IMPORTANT NOTE:
